The nose is perfumed and complex with candie d citrus fruits and roasted, tannic flavors. The palate is powerful, with a great aromatic richness. Almost explosive with cooked pear, citrus fruits, cinnamon, and pepper. The finish is long, with a return of citrus fruits and spices.
Rhum Barbancourt is a distinctively unique rum, pot stilled from 100% pure cane sugar juice and aged in French limosin oak casks in a method similar to the finest cognacs. Rhum Barbancourt "Reserve du Domaine" is aged for fifteen years to create an extraodinary, luxurious rum of unsurpassed quality. Only a limited amount of this award winning rum is released from the private reserve of the Barbancourt Estate each year.
